The Best Parts:This story is intriguing just from the description, but that’s because I love step-brother romances. And this one is set up a little bit different, because Royal knows right off the bat that he can’t have his girl, but she just can’t seem to understand that.
The tension makes this book, and that is mainly what this story is about. The push and the pull between Royal and Noelle, now this sin’t a bad thing because it benefits them more then it hinders their relationship. This story is about accepting that in some people’s eyes you may be bad, but then there are others who will always see the good in you.
Royal is your typical bad boy and Noelle is your typical good girl, the perfect couple.
The Worst Parts:
Now I do have to say that my one issues with this book did put a hinder on my reading it, at first I was just like nah, my mind is going crazy, and then it happened again, and again. The Sex. Yes you heard me, I had a problem with the sex. It seemed that every damn time Royal and Noelle had sex their parents were still in the house, when it was at her house, when it was at his house, every damn time. Like people can hear that, and it never mentioned that the parents left, nope, and they weren’t quiet either. I mean my parents were not all up in my sex life, but they sure as hell didn’t want to hear that shit.
Now this may not effect other readers, but in my thought process something should have been said or they should have made mention to keep quiet, just to give a little justice to the scene, rather than just going at it like two horny rabbits.
Final Thoughts:
I truly did like this book. I loved the layout and setup of it, and it was fun and enjoyable to read. Royal’s attitude kept you on your toes and Noelle’s naiveté kept you reading just so you could figure out the good she saw in Royal.

Not one of my favorite from this author. I found myself flipping pages. It just seems to be the same thing for most of the first half of the book. Can't have her, so angry with everyone, I hate him, I need him, she's mine but I have to push her away since I'm not worthy... ugh.
Where do I start? Exciting and a fresh take on High School and complicated teen romance. Well developed characters. Very different story line. Noelle's Mom really hates the boy she loves named Royal. Will this tear them apart? Read for yourself. So many twists and turns made my head spin and left me asking what the heck is going on? But then I really liked the conflict. The Stepbrother series is very interesting. Not my favorite genre, but well written as to make me rethink it.
What a great sexy bad boy stepbrother book! This book has it all.. Royal is an angry young man with a temper .. fights, sleeps with any girl, disrespects just about anyone.. His mother, Olivia finally fed up.sends him to live with his father, Mark and awful stepmother - her daughter, Noelle.. there are many steamy, heated, twisted, messed.up, lies, all kinds of yummy in this book... so put this on TBR List it is a good one.. let Royal mess w you!!
5 Crazy Ass Must Read Stars!!!!!
I just got my guilty pleasure fix! I really enjoyed this book. Such a fresh take on the taboo subject. I was intrigued and kept swiping pages so I could get the whole of Royal's story with his dad. It was unexpected and I love how things turned out for all the characters.
I'm not a Josi fan for nothing and this book here just added another to the list of why she is on my stalking radar. I look forward to reading Stepbrother Daddy. Just a little over a month away....hehehe.
This was a sweet story developed between two young adults. Royal was a very alpha and hated the world for what his father had done, fought his way through life and always getting into trouble. Noelle was a sweet young woman who hadn't done everything her mother wanted her to. Until their lives collide finding out they are step-siblings their whole lives change. Finding out truths and falling in love for the first times in their lives. This was a great read and loved watching their story unfold into a sweet young love. JL Beck has a way with her characters and this one was no different. Love her writing.
I really enjoyed this book. We start out meeting Royal, a young man raised by his single mother and who is full of so much anger. He is constantly getting in to fights to satisfy the rage within. He's grown up watching his mother struggle to support them after his father left, but his anger comes from his father doing so to marry another woman and raise a child that isn't even his. Royals mom finally see's she inst capable of controlling her son anymore and sends him to live with his father, stepmother, and stepsister. Royal is angry about this and vows to make his fathers new family pay when he gets there.
Noelle is an innocent girl who is always trying to please others, but mostly her mother. Her mother is a bully and nothing Noelle does is ever good enough, but she keeps pushing forward trying to do her best. She does everything she is told to avoid confrontation.
When Royal shows up she tries to be his friend but he shuts that down at every turn with his mean words and actions. This would normally turn people away bur Noelle is the one person who can see past the anger in Royal and notice the pain. Because of this she sets out to prove that she the only person who wont abandon him. The more they clash the more you can see their building attraction to each other.
Eventually Royal starts to realize that they aren't too different from each other and starts to show a softer side to her. Soon their attraction hits an all time high and Royal stakes his claim on Noelle but only then do secrets come out that has Royal questioning everything.
This really was a great read. I enjoyed the slow build of of Royal and Noelle's relationship. My only critique is that I wanted more closure at the end. I wanted to see something bad happen to Noelle's mother for her actions and I also wanted to see Royal and Noelle's relationship bloom a little more in the end. I felt it was a little abrupt.
